For hot water brewing
1. Put 4g (1 tablespoon) of tea leaves into your teapot or kyusu.
2. Pour 130ml of hot water over the tea leaves.
3. Wait 30 seconds and pour the tea until the last drop is out.
For cold water brewing
Put three spoonfuls (about 8g) of tea leaves and 500 ml of water in a filter bottle or large teapot. Leave it in the refrigerator for about an hour before drinking.
Although Genmaicha is usually brewed with hot water to enjoy its fragrant aroma, cold water brewing provides a refreshing and delicious way to enjoy its flavor even more.
