Product Details:
Tea made from shaded cultivation, such as "碾茶" (Tencha) and "玉露" (Gyokuro), is said to taste better when matured slowly rather than consumed immediately after production.
During the Edo period, when refrigeration was unavailable, historical records indicate that these teas were stored at low temperatures on Mount Atago in Kyoto (at an altitude of approximately 1,000m), where the average temperature from June to October is around 18°C.
Our "Matured Gyokuro" is a carefully crafted tea, meticulously selected by our team masters. Through a unique maturing process, we have drawn out this tea's characteristic aroma and richness.
Stored in a cool, dark place at an average temperature of approximately 18°C, this tea develops a refined "覆い香" (cover scent), a delicate fragrance characteristic of premium teas.
Tea matures well in an environment with minimal oxygen exchange, but traditional storage bags often allow oxygen to permeate, leading to premature deterioration.
Our "Matured Gyokuro" is stored in bags that effectively block oxygen exchange, preserving the tea quality and allowing it to mature gracefully.
We have dedicated ourselves to creating this unique, mellow, and flavorful tea. We invite you to savor its distinctive taste.
