Tea grown under shade, such as Tencha and Gyokuro, is said to develop a richer flavor when slowly matured rather than consumed immediately after production.
During the Edo period, before refrigeration was available, historical records indicate that tea was stored at low temperatures on Mount Atago in Kyoto, at an altitude of approximately 1,000 meters, where the average temperature from June to October is around 18°C.
Our "Matured Gyokuro" is made from carefully selected Uji tea and matured using our unique storage method. Stored in a cool, dark place at an average temperature of approximately 18°C, the tea develops its distinctive shaded-tea aroma and rich umami, along with a deep aroma reminiscent of nori seaweed.
Tea matures well in an environment with minimal oxygen exchange. Our "Matured Gyokuro" is stored in specially designed bags that block air exchange, helping to prevent deterioration while allowing the tea to mature properly.

Directions (For 1 Serving):
- Place 3g of tea leaves (approximately 1 lightly filled tablespoon) in a teapot.
- Pour 30ml of hot water cooled to approximately 40°C (104°F) over the tea leaves.
- Steep for approximately 2 minutes and 30 seconds, then pour out every last drop.
- Adjust the amount of tea leaves and steeping time according to your preference.
- For freshness, please enjoy the tea soon after opening.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from heat and strong odors.
- Always use fresh tea leaves, as used leaves may spoil or deteriorate over time.
- Please take care when handling hot water.
