This matcha has all it needs for a perfect koicha experience

This matcha has all it needs for a perfect koicha experience. First, there's a lot of umami, that gives way to artichoke flavours, then violet and just a gentle hint of bitterness at the very end. I greatly recommend, as all fukujuen matchas I've tested so far (banjo no mukashi and eisho no mukashi).

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and detailed review!
We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the rich umami and delicate, evolving flavors of this Matcha, especially as Koicha.
It also means a great deal to us that you have enjoyed Banjo no Mukashi and Eisho no Mukashi as well.
Thank you for your continued appreciation of Fukujuen matcha!

Packs a punch with a deep, nutty flavour

This is one of my all-time favourite blends of matcha. Incredible depth to drink as koicha, and still very punchy as usucha. I find that it still tastes beautifully rich even in a matcha latte (oat milk), and you don't need to use much for the nutty and umami flavour to come through. It doesn't have a vegetal, sweet or fruity taste, but that suits my preferences. Not a short or long finish, but almost woodsy and is very fragrant and bright green. Powder is so fine it blends wonderfully. Expensive though, so I don't drink it often and wouldn't drink it as an everyday matcha.

Thank you so much for sharing such a thoughtful and detailed review!
We’re truly honored that our Matcha is one of your all-time favorite blends.
It’s wonderful to hear you enjoy its depth as Koicha, its punch as Usucha, and even its richness in a latte with oat milk.
We’re also happy that the fine powder and vibrant color met your expectations.
We understand it’s a special matcha to be savored on special occasions, and we hope each cup continues to bring you joy and comfort.
