With Omoiyari Kyusu

Start the morning by brewing Sencha for your family.
Prepare Japanese black tea for a dear friend.
End a long day with a comforting cup of Hojicha.
Different teas for different moments.

What would a truly versatile kyusu be—one that suits any tea leaves? After much reflection and repeated trial and error, Fukujuen created its original “Omoiyari Kyusu.”

Thoughtful care for others is richness in itself.
Whether sharing tea with family, welcoming a friend, or taking a quiet moment for yourself, Omoiyari Kyusu is made for those irreplaceable times.
We hope it brings gentle, enriching moments that nourish both the person who brews and the person who drinks.

Thoughtfully Designed Form

1. For a wide variety of tea leaves
Its structure allows tea leaves to open fully, making it suitable for both small and generous servings.
While some teapots are designed for specific teas, such as Gyokuro or Hojicha, this kyusu is made to bring out the flavor of any Fukujuen tea. Capacity range: 30–300 ml.

2. Easy to hold in many ways
Designed to be easy to hold with one hand or both hands, whether right- or left-handed.
Created to be comfortable and easy to use for everyone, from adults to children.

3. Easy to clean
The body and strainer are integrated, with a smooth interior surface.
Tea leaves are less likely to clog the strainer area, making it easy to rinse and clean.

How to Use

・Before first use, rinse the entire kyusu with water and allow it to dry thoroughly.
・Each piece is handmade, so slight differences in character may occur.
・Do not heat over an open flame or in an oven.
・If the kyusu is tilted suddenly or too steeply when pouring, tea leaves may pass over the strainer area.
・In that case, remove the lid and pour slowly while checking the condition of the tea leaves inside.
・Depending on the type of tea leaves, leaves may clog the strainer area, or finer leaves may pass through the strainer holes.
・Tea stains may appear with use.
・They can be removed using a commercially available dishware bleach or similar product.
・Follow the instructions provided with the cleaning product.
・After use, wash the kyusu, dry it thoroughly, and then store it.
・Insufficient washing or drying may cause mold.
・As this is ceramic, avoid strong impact, which may cause cracks or breakage.
・Do not use a dishwasher or dish dryer.
